The scholarship aims to foster better understanding and cooperation between China and other countries through cultural exchange and education.

The Confucius Institute Scholarship provides a range of benefits, including:

  • Full or Partial Tuition Coverage: The scholarship can cover full or partial tuition fees, depending on the program and duration.
  • Accommodation: Free on-campus accommodation or a monthly stipend for off-campus accommodation.
  • Living Allowance: A monthly stipend to cover living expenses, which varies depending on the study program:
    • One-Academic-Year Study: 2,500 CNY per month
    • One-Semester Study: 2,500 CNY per month
    • Four-Week Study: 700 CNY per month
  • Comprehensive Medical Insurance: Health insurance covers essential medical services during the scholarship period.

Requirements

To be eligible for the Confucius Institute Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Nationality: Must be a non-Chinese citizen.
  • Age:
    • One-Academic-Year Study and One-Semester Study: Must be between 16 and 35 years old.
    • Chinese Language Teachers: Must be under the age of 45.
    • Four-Week Study: Must be between 16 and 35 years old.
  • Language Proficiency: Applicants must provide a valid HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) score report. The required level varies based on the type of study program.
  • Recommendation: Applicants must be recommended by a Confucius Institute, individual Chinese language teachers, or relevant educational institutions.
  • Application Documents: A complete set of documents, including the application form, highest diploma, academic transcripts, HSK score report, recommendation letters, and a valid passport copy.
